Two and a half months old

Lila is now two and a half months old. At her 2 months checkup she was 5.4 kg, and 61cm. Everything is going smoothly and she is even good to Alice her maman de jour and Laetitia her nanny. I sometimes feel bad about having her go to so many different places for daycare but it's not like I have a huge choice and in the long run, if I actually manage to get a teachers position, I'll be able to spend much more time with my kids!

Trip to Les Giettes

We went up to Les Giettes for 5 days at the beginning of the week. We had a beautiful stay with Orion, Melody, Thomas and Ivan, and then with Michel and Marie-Claire. Lila finally lost her umbilical cord (at 6 weeks and 3 days) while we were up so I decided to burry the stump under a tree. This might seems weird but given that the ashes of most of my paternal ancestors are up there, and that Lila was born on my Granny's birthday, I thought it was a good idea.

So Lila is now nearly 6 weeks and she had her first pediatrician appointment yesterday. She is now 4.75kg, 59 cm and her head is 39cm in circumference. All her reflexes are good and she holds her head very well for her age. She is growing fast, not sleeping through the night (it's been 2 years and about 6 months since I slept through the night, but who is counting...), she started to smile about 2 weeks ago, and she is making cute sounds that resemble something like ahhheu. Fascinating, no? She got her first bottle of my milk to be ready for me going back to school and she did ok so far. Nandu got his first mommy-made haircut, and he didn't have to wear a hat to hide it, so I guess I did ok ;)

Lila Louise Dora Sood

Notre fille est née en fanfare, devant notre garage à Bussigny le 5 juillet 2013, exactement 101 ans après ma Granny (Et c'est pour cela que l'on a ajouté le prénom de Dora puisque ma Granny s'appelait Theodora).
Lila était le prénom de la grand-mère de Vishal donc c'est une histoire de grand-maman qui se joue. D'ailleurs Lila devant le sentir puisqu'elle a décidé de sortir à l'ancienne.
Elle faisait 3.74kg à la naissance et 53 cm, une grande fille.

Nandu réagit très bien à l'arrivée de sa petit soeur. Il lui fait des bisous sur la tête, et trouve qu'elle est jolie (merci Henri Dès pour "ma petite soeur est jolie...".
